It’s a tough job but somebody’s got to do it, and I’m certainly thrilled to judge the 2016 EggFest competition!
Bay Breeze Patio, an official retailer of the Big Green Egg, will host the third annual Eggs on the Beach EggFest Cooking Competition on Saturday, September 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Seascape Resort in Miramar Beach.
Come and enjoy a day of delicious foods cooked on the Big Green Egg during the Eggs On The Beach event. Food will be coming off the Big Green Eggs all day so come hungry! Tasters are invited to vote for their favorites, and one talented cook team will win a loaded large Big Green Egg, worth over $1,000.
Tasters may purchase tickets to win a variety of prizes, including vacation stays, meals at area restaurants and more. Or, bid on a Mini-Max Portable Big Green Egg in the silent auction. Proceeds benefit the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast and Food for Thought. Located on Eglin Air Force Base, the Fisher House provides a “home away from home” for military families so they can be together during medical treatment or physical therapy. Food For Thought is helping fight food insecurity among area children by providing backpacks filled with healthy meals to students during weekends, holidays and summer break.
Last year, the cooking competition raised $23,000 for the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast.
“We are humbled by the outpouring of support and involvement in previous Eggs on the Beach events,” said Bay Breeze Patio co-owner Susan Kiley. “This year, we’ve added a second charity,and bigger prizes for both non-profit cook teams and ‘People’s Choice’ winners. We’re ready to put on another exciting cook-friendly competition that is fun for all and benefits our community.”
Eggs on the Beach will take place rain or shine on Sept. 24, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and includes tastings, grilling demonstrations, live music by Chris Alvarado, a cash bar with beer, wine and sodas, kids activities, a Sports Zone and more. The EggFest grilling competition will be fun for the whole family!

Advance tickets: $25/adult; $13.00/child (age 11-17) and children ages 10 and under free.
Tickets purchased day of the event or at the gate: $35/adult; $18.00/child (age 11-17)
