When and why did you start this site?

I have a passion for food, writing, cooking, travel, photography and art, and this website is a wonderful way to channel all of my creative energy and share content with readers.

I decided to fully pursue 30AEATS.com in the spring of 2011, after my daughter headed off to college knowing my son would leave soon after. I now have all of the time I need to focus my best efforts on featuring the stories I have held onto for years, and can properly give the time needed to devote to this site and my journalism.

Can I republish your post, recipe and/or photo on my site?

No, you cannot use my content on your site unless I get the credit!  If you make one of my recipes and want to use it in your blog, you can link it back to my site without the recipe, or adapt the recipe in your own language. Go to Food Blog Alliance for information on this subject. Photos and content are subject to approval, so please just ask. The answer will more than likely be yes.

What kind of Camera do you use? Who takes the pictures?

I am currently using a Cannon EOS D60 camera, and I take all of the pictures myself unless otherwise noted. I prefer to use available natural light. Some of the photos on the 30AEATS Face book page come directly from the restaurant sites that I am freely promoting to support my local community.

What is your procedure in reviewing restaurants for 30AEATS.com?

The restaurants, shops and hotels that I mention on this website are places that I would generally recommend, unless otherwise noted. I will not be doing traditional “reviews,” as that involves extensive note taking, enormous amounts of research and a return to the establishment three or more times for accuracy. I also like to focus on the positives, as everyone has a bad day, therefore you will not read negative reviews. If I find after visiting an establishment several times it is not to my satisfaction, I will not write about it or share it on this site.

What about Travel and Press?

If I write about a place or what is produced there, it is because I have personally enjoyed it and feel the readers will to. I have a deep interest and curiosity in food culture, and enjoy learning about foods and their production. These include but are not limited to cheese, wine, bourbon, vodka, chocolate and all things pig.

Press trips allow journalists and bloggers like myself the opportunity to go behind the scenes, and have access where they would normally not. I welcome the opportunity to learn more about a food or subject I am interested in. My opinions are always my own.

I am available for media trips and can be reached at info@30aeats.com.

30AEATS store

All items found in the 30AEATS store will be 30AEATS labeled products. I will also be sharing local products for purchase. I look forward to bringing you some fun and interesting merchandise in 2013! Purchasing through 30AEATS helps us to defray the costs associated with providing our readers interesting reviews, resources, photographs and recipes.

Recipe Development

30AEATS works with specific companies and agencies for the design and development of recipes. If interested, please contact me via the Contact form or info@30aeats.com.
