Local Catch Ceviche

There is so much activity this time of year – remodeling, re-opening, new restaurants, new staff!

‎Local Catch Bar & Grill had their “soft” opening Tuesday, and the grand opening will be today! I am hearing a lot of good food news! They are located in Santa Rosa Beach at the old Salty Dog Location, east of Gulf Place. Jimmy Hasser, owner will be on hand and of course Executive Chef Adam Yellin.

I am so very excited about the March 15 opening of Edward’s Fine Food & Wine in Rosemary Beach in the old Courtyard location. Chef Edward Reece is extremely talented and his food style is fresh and clean! Check out his wife Erin’s blog to get in on the detailed action and hard work behind the scenes!

George’s at Alys Beach and La Cocina in Seacrest will be open for business today! I’m looking forward to Chef Gregg’s new spring inspired menu! Next Thursday March 8, 2012 Caliza will open with Chef Kevin Korman at the helm. Need your Caliza fix now? Head to the Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Inc. fundraiser this weekend in Alys Beach – the inaugural 30A Wine Festival. Fabulous food, spirits, wine and music will tantalize you!

Kevin Moran has joined Harbor Restaurant Group as a managing partner of CRUSH, a favorite hangout on the square in Seaside. He was previously the general manager of Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood located at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, and is one of the regions only certified sommeliers. Moran says,“We will have an opportunity to teach and expose our guests to incredible wine and food with a team of wine enthusiasts to guide you along the way. Come Drink, Eat and Discover!”

Chef Johnny Earles, Owner and Executive chef of the former Criolla’s is back on the scene shaking things up at Segar’s! He says he is bringing new flavor specialties to the menu, and incorporating creative seafood inspired dishes.

Yet another opening this week was the highly anticipated debut of 723 Whiskey Bravo, a modern, white building in the heart of Seagrove on the old Wheelhouse location. I enjoyed Sports Bar Fare and watched the Daytona 500 with my husband. We met a new friend from Atlanta who was in town visiting Watercolor, and he said his fish taco wrap was delicious.
