Twenty Gulf Coast chefs are participating in this year’s WSRE 2017 Wine & Food Classic, the public television station’s annual fundraiser, taking place this weekend on Pensacola Beach.

During the 29th annual walkabout tasting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, top regional chefs will compete for votes and the honor of winning the Earl Peyroux Culinary Legacy Award, named for the longtime national PBS host of “Gourmet Cooking,” produced by WSRE from 1977 into the early 1990s. 30AEats is proud to be a sponsor of this event AND has a pair (2) of the coveted tickets to Give Away! For the Milestones & Memories Black Tie Gala at 7 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 21, Pensacola chefs (Dan Dunn, Irv Miller and Gus Silivos), will present recipes from one of the most popular PBS chefs, Lidia Bastianich of “Lidia’s Kitchen” fame. The chefs will collaborate to create and prepare the menu featuring dishes from Bastianich’s new cookbook “Celebrate Like an Italian.” Bastianich will be one of the featured guests at the gala.

Silver Oak Cellars and Republic National Distributors/Santa Margherita are wine sponsors for the events, which will both take place at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Ballroom. Tickets to the event are $175. there will also be a silent auction with packages offered to NYC and Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort!

The weekend will conclude with an opportunity to meet Bastianich during a “Celebrate Like an Italian” book signing and Silver Oak wine tasting from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 22 at So Gourmet & Kitchenry.
