Grayton Beer Company officially unveiled its new range of locally brewed beers this week. The new brews are due to hit the market later this month.
“We are proud to be the first brewery based in South Walton, brewing our beer locally and serving the entire Emerald Coast and surrounding areas,” said Jamey Price, founder of Grayton Beer.
The new designs are colorful, bright and bold, and they incorporate images well-known to locals. The flagship beer for Grayton Beer – Original – is wrapped in rich, red colored packaging and features a new branding campaign, Be Original.
“Attractive packaging is an important part of launching new beers,” said Martin Liptrot, the VP of Marketing and Sales at Grayton Beer who led the overall design process. “We know taste and style are important on the Emerald Coast, and our designs are thoughtfully constructed to fit with the great lifestyle we enjoy here on the beach. So far, we have had terrific feedback on them from locals.”
Martin Liptrot VP of Marketing and Sales for Grayton Beer Company, was in charge of launching the company’s new product line, transitioning the brand from a local novelty beverage to a major player in the region.
After nearly a year of construction, state-of-the-art brewing equipment ( Fermentation tanks from Allied Beverage Tanks, LLC – Chicago, Illinois) hold as much as 22,000 pints of beer each, and with the nine tanks has the ability to brew the equivalent of 150,000 bottles of beer at a time. There is 10,000 square feet of cold storage.
Head Brewmaster, Brad “Shank” Shankweiler
Head Brewer Brad “Shank” Shankweiler says, “We aim to compete with the best beers in the world, using the finest ingredients, methods, and quality control available in the industry today.”
The range of beers also includes 30A Beach Blonde Ale , which incorporates 30A.com’s iconic blue logo.
“We worked with Mike Ragsdale and his 30A team, and thousands of 30A fans to get the design just right,“ said Liptrot. “We knew the beer needed to have a blonde girl image on it but getting it right was important. She is stylish, full of vitality and classy – she has a little bit of a retro look and she really fits with the vibe on the 30A.”
The entire Grayton Beer range features names and styles that are meaningful and familiar to Florida’s Gulf Coast region. The Amber Ale, which carries the name 1890 Founder’s Ale, is a tribute to the year and the people that first incorporated Grayton. The Belgian White, or Witbier, is named White Dunes in honor of the 15 coastal dune lakes that are a rare treasure to the South Walton area. The Pale Ale has been a favorite since its 2011 release. Grayton Beer chose to keep the beer’s Pale Ale name, but updated the packaging and branding design to better reflect the rich golden color that helped make this celebrated beer so popular.
The brand designs include ideas and images developed by local designers – Central Idea Agency, Tommy Crow and MoonCreek – as well as the input of international branding agencies. All the beers are brewed in Grayton Beer’s state of the art brewery on US 98 in South Walton and will be available later this month. The beers will be distributed by Lewis Bear Company.
