Maker’s Mark Milkshake

Grown-up milkshakes are all the rage today, and restaurants are serving them up with style. Leave out the kick for the kids to enjoy, but do serve this shake with a side of thick sliced bacon on a stick, if adding the bourbon. Don’t think about the nutritional aspects, just blend and savor.

Bourbon Butter Pecan Milkshake

Ingredients:

2 shots of your favorite Bourbon

1-1/2 cups butter pecan ice cream, packed

1/2-cup whole milk

2 tablespoons toasted pecans

1/4 vanilla bean, scraped, seeds only, or ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1-tablespoon Vermont maple syrup

Caramel syrup

Whipped cream

Preparation:

Place all ingredients in a blender except for the caramel and whipped cream. Puree on the highest speed for a minute or two until smooth and creamy. Pour into a large pint glass or two 8-ounce glasses, top with whipped cream, and drizzle with caramel syrup. Serve immediately with a side of sliced bacon to nibble on.
