The Seaside Neighborhood School is one of the top charter schools not only in the state of Florida, but in the country.

It was conceptualized in 1995 by my neighbors, the Buzzett’s, along with concerned citizens, and created in 1996 before my permanent move to the area in 1998. My children were fortunate enough to have their name drawn in the yearly lottery and were able to attend from 2005 to 2009.

Seaside Neighborhood School student test scores rank high above the district and state standards, but each year the gap between The Seaside School standard of excellence and the funding provided by the state seems to grow wider due to state and local cuts and the need for a larger enrollment.

Whether you’re a runner, volunteer, sponsor, or just come to visit for the weekend, you are supporting a fantastic community event by participating in The Seaside Half Marathon & 5K along with Taste of the Race!

Your contributions allow students to have elective mentored classes in gardening, music, art, technology, dance, yearbook, smaller math classes, and an award winning robotics program.

Below is my daughter Caroline’s name on a banner she made with the kids from SNS to welcome George W. Bush to Seaside when he was campaigning for President. Just a few years ago! 😉
